Short-term work visas (Tier 5):

Charity Worker Visa:

If you want to do unpaid-voluntary work for a charity in the UK for a short period of time, then this visa is the right option for you.

Creative and Sporting Visa:

If you are a sports person or creative worker that has been offered a job in the UK for a short period of time, then this visa is the right option for you.

Government Authorised Exchange Visa:

If you want to come to the UK for a short time for work experience or to do training, an Overseas Government Language Programme, research or a fellowship through an approved government authorised exchange scheme, then this visa is the right option for you.

International Agreement Visa:

If you are going to do work for a short time covered by international law while you are in the UK. For example, working for a foreign government or as a private servant in a diplomatic household, then this visa is the right option for you.

Religious Worker Visa:

This visa applies to those who want to come to the UK for a short period of time do religious work, such as preaching or working in a religious order.

Seasonal Work Visa:

This visa applies to those who want to come to the UK for up to 6 months to do farm work.

Youth Mobility Scheme Visa:

This visa applies to sponsored young people who are aged 18 to 30 and want to experience what life is like in the UK for up to 2 years, including work. But this visa only applies to a small number of countries.

Long-term work visas (Tier 2):

General work visa:

This visa applies to those who have been offered a permanent skilled job in the UK. When assessing eligibility, a point-based system is used to determine whether the applicant is eligible or not.

Intra-company transfer visa:

If you are an employee of a multinational company and you are being transferred by your overseas employer to a UK branch. For example, if you are an employee at HSBC in Singapore, you could move to a HSBC branch in the UK under this visa. But, this visa is subjected to minimum income requirements which differs for graduates and long-term staff.

Minister of Religion visa:

If you have been offered a job within a faith community in the UK, and want to move to the UK to work full-time as a religious worker or religious missionary, then this visa is the right option for you.

Sportsperson visa:

This visa operates under the points-based system. If you are an elite sportsperson/qualified coach, who’s recognised by your sport’s governing body as being at the highest level of your profession internationally and your sport’s governing body is endorsing your application, then this visa is the right option for you.
